The Davos region has everything you would expect from a tourist resort: a 6km long mountain lake, mythical cols and an ideal starting point for a trip to the glaciers on the Bernina Express.
Davos has a highly international atmosphere and at the same time offers a typical Swiss postcard landscape. This atmosphere can only enhance the beauty of this region and you will not be disappointed.
As a cyclist, Davos is an ideal starting camp. Perched at 1560m above sea level, making it the highest town in the Alps, it is close to many must-do climbs. If the altitude and cols appeal to you, don't wait any longer to book your stay here.
The course is not yet determined, but it is nevertheless possible to marvel through this article at the two giants that are the Albula and the Flüela.
The Flüela
If the Albula is already a cyclist's dream, what about the Flüela pass? With its 2'383m of altitude, this climb takes you to the roof of Switzerland.
Whether you choose to climb from Davos or from Susch, you will be confronted with exactly the same challenge with numbers that make you breathless: no less than 13km at an average gradient of 10% await you to reach the summit of the 5th highest road pass in Switzerland!
But rest assured, the breathtaking scenery, the incredible view and the proximity to the eternal snow that the Flüela offers more than compensate for the energy and suffering necessary for its demanding ascent. A small mountain lake awaits you, nestled at the top of the pass, as a final reward. There is no doubt, the Flüela is a challenge not to be missed!
With all these qualities, the Haute Route couldn't wait any longer to make you discover this little piece of paradise. Davos is a newcomer to our 2022 calendar with a 3 day race through this natural beauty. We still have to select the cols you will climb but there is no doubt that the route will be spectacular.
This region has cols that are internationally less famous than those of the Alps, the Pyrenees or the Dolomites, but it brings together everything we want to offer you: reaching new heights in a fantastic natural scenery!
